Nostrand was a lithographer and publisher of city and subway maps, active primarily in New York City during the 1920s and 1930s. He is known for creating detailed maps and bird's-eye views of New York City and its vicinity, often highlighting automobile roads and urban features of the time. Nostrand operated out of 258 Broadway in New York, a location once occupied by the Arthur Ohman Map Company, where he may have worked prior to publishing under his own name. His work closely resembles that of Ohman, particularly in the style of bird's-eye views. Nostrand's maps were significant during the era when hand-drawn panoramic city views were popular before the advent of aerial photography.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"The Antiquarium Antique Maps | Quality Custom Picture Framing","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44380380528779,"sku":"308597","price":595.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0389\/6416\/6795\/files\/NostrandBird_sEyeViewofNewYorkandVicinity_1929.jpg?v=1760542039","url":"https:\/\/theantiquarium.com\/products\/view-of-new-york-and-vicinity-nostrand-1929","provider":"The Antiquarium Antique Maps | Quality Custom Picture Framing","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
