"Rosette taken from an ancient building between the Quirinal and the Capitoline Hills"

These fine engravings depict decorative architectural elements from the buildings and monuments of Ancient Rome and surrounding towns. The floral carvings are shown full front and also in cross section. Because of bits of paint which, upon close inspection, were detected on the original structures, it was deduced that they had once been brightly colored, thus the hand-painting of these engraved representations.
