"Respective Position of the Peoples of the Earth"

Image depicting the orientation of the earth's inhabitants in respect to the sun and the earth's axes. People will fall into one of the following categories:

Perioecians: People who live at the same latitude but on opposite meridians, making it noon in one place while it is midnight in the other.

Heteroscians: People who live on opposite sides of the equator, one in the Northern and one in the Southern Hemisphere. Except in the tropics, at noon their shadows will always fall in opposite directions; those in the Northern Hemisphere will point north, while those in the Southern Hemisphere will point south.

Antoecians: People who live at the same point of longitude but the opposite latitude.

Periscians: People who live within the Arctic Circle. For a few days a year during the summer, their shadow will move in a circle around them.

Ascians: People who live along the equator where the sun is vertical at noon for a few days of the year, at which time they have no shadows.

...

"Peroecians - Peoples who have the same seasons, but the opposite hours.

Heteroscians - Peoples who always have at noon a shadow facing the Pole, which is elevated on their Horizon.

Antoecians - Peoples who have the opposite Seasons, and at the same time noon and midnight.

Periscians - Those whose shadow turns, all the while the Sun illuminates them.

Ascians - Peoples who have no shadow at noon, and Amphisians whose shadow is turned sometimes from one side, sometimes from the other."
