There is so much of Grandeur and reverential Solemnity to Yosemite that a bit of humor may help the better to happily reconcile ourselves to the triviality of Man. Give me the souls who smile at their devotions! Now, should this light effort — not altogether truthful, so not altogether dull — afford you a tither of mirth, I shall feel I have added to your reverence for Yosemite.
Dedicated to the esteemed memory of my friend the late Stephen T. Mather, first Director of U. S. National Park Service, whose untiring efforts and devotion to the ethics of the Service have been so fruitful in making Yosemite a vacation mecca for the people of the present and future generations. Jo Mora.

Map labels major features and locations in the park such as Half-Dome, El Capitan, and Mirror Lake, as well as camping sites, hotels, and ranger stations. Also includes a border showing activities and humorous scenes related to Yosemite.
