Railroad map of the United States marking major track lines and depots. Labeled cities include San Francisco, Mobile, Pensacola, New Orleans, Raleigh, Decatur, Savannah, Charleston, Nashville, Knoxville, 'Chatanoga,' Omaha, Austin, St. Louis, Chicago, Springfield, Indianapolis, Louisville, New York, Richmond, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Norfolk. Also labels the Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Arkansas, Colorado, and Red Rivers, the Rio Grande, and Lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Ontario.

In the early 1880s, a partnership was formed between the Little Rock, Mississippi River, and Texas RR and the Little Rock and Fort Smith RR with the goal of creating a new route into Indian Territory. Part of this plan involved building a new bridge across the Arkansas River, causing the partnership to form the Little Rock Junction Railway and Bridge Co. in 1883. This map depicts Little Rock as a junction point for multiple rail lines, and also illustrates the country's wider rail network. Shows the Union Pacific line, as well as a second proposed trans-Pacific route, the Atlantic & Pacific Railway.
