Birds-eye photograph of the city of Houston, Texas c. 1930. Shows the intersection of Main Street and Montrose Boulevard, with Downtown in the distance. In the lower right corner appears Sam Houston's equestrian statue at the edge of Hermann Park, and the lower left corner shows the outskirts of Rice University's campus (formerly Rice Institute). Up and to the left of the traffic circle in the center of the image sits the original building of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (founded 1924). Today, the Museum's campus has expanded considerably, and now occupies most of the adjacent lots in this image. To the right of the traffic circle sits the Warwick Hotel (today the Hotel ZaZa), built in 1926.
