A beautiful and scarce French Travel poster illustrating Salies-de-Bearn. The name comes from its naturally occurring saline water. During the expanded, pre-liberation occupation of France by Nazi Germany, Salies was on the border between the occupied zone and the free zone.
The Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans et du Midi, often abbreviated as PO-Midi, was a French railway company created in 1934 by merging the Paris-Orléans Railway Company and the Midi Railway Company.
