This map shows coastal Matagorda County, est. 1836. The county seat of Bay City is shown at upper right center, on the St. Louis, Brownsville & Mexico Railway. Features include Palacios Bay, Lake Austin, Matagorda Bay, Cedar Lake, and the Matagorda Peninsula. The county is bordered by Brazoria, Wharton, and Jackson counties.
