Mexican broadside decreeing numerous issues of currency unauthorized and illegal.
Gobierno del Estado Libre y Soberano de Guanajuato. Sección de Hacienda.
El C. Secretario de Hacienda y Crédito Público, en nota de 8 de Diciembre del año próximo pasado, recibida ayer, me dice lo siguiente: "El Primer Jefe del Ejército Constitucionalista Encargado del Poder Ejecutivo, se ha servido dirigirme el Decreto que sigue:
-"Venustiano Carranza,
-Primer Jefe del Ejército Constitucionalista
-Encargado del Poder Ejecutivo,
en uso de las facultades extraordinarias de que estoy investido y considerando que, en vista de las emisiones de billetes que se han hecho y siguen haciéndose sin autorización de esta Primera Jefatura, conviene,--para evitar perjuicios al público,--unificar hasta donde sea posible la circulación de papel moneda y fijar claramente cuales son las obligaciones aceptadas por este Gobierno, he tenido a bien decretar lo siguiente:
Artículo 1º - Desde el día 1º de abril de 1915 dejarán de tener circulación legal los siguientes billetes: los emitidos en Monclova, Coah., con fecha 28 de mayo de 1913, firmados por Francisco Escudero y S. Aguirre; los emitidos en Durango en diciembre de 1913, firmados por M. del Real Alfaro; los emitidos en Durango en enero de 1914, firmados por J. R. Laurenzana, Pastor Rouaix y M. del Real Alfaro; los emitidos en Tampico con fecha 6 de junio de 1914, firmados por el Gral. Luis Caballero; los emitidos en Guadalajara con fecha 1º de agosto de 1914, firmados por el Gral. Alvaro Obregón y por el Tte. Corl. F. R. Serrano, y los emitidos en Durango en agosto de 1914 y firmados por el Gral. Domingo Arrieta, José Clark y Juan B. Fuentes.
Artículo 2º - La Tesorería de la Federación efecturará el canje de los billetes mencionados en el artículo anterior, en la forma que vaya disponiendo la Secretaría de Hacienda. El vencimineto del plazo a que se refiere el artículo anterior, no implica la nulidad de los billetes que hayan dejado de canjearse.
Artículo 3º - Son nulos y sin ningún valor los billetes emitidos por el Gobierno del Estado de Sonora, asi como todos los que se hayan emitido, fuera de los enumerados en el artículo 1º, y siganse emitiéndose sin ser autorizados por decreto de esta Primera Jefatura.
Por tanto, mado se imprima, publique, circule y se le dé el debido cumplimiento - Constitución y Reformas - Dado en la H. Veracruz, a 8 de diciembre de 1914. - Firmado V. Carranza. -Al C. Rafael Nieto, Oficial Mayor Encargado del Despacho de Hacienda y Crédito Público - Presente."

Government of the Free and Sovereign State of Guanajuato. Finance Section.
The C. Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, in a note of December 8 of last year, received yesterday, tells me the following: "The First Chief of the Constitutionalist Army in Charge of the Executive Power, has served to address the Decree that follows:

-First Chief of the Constitutionalist Army
-In charge of the Executive Power,
in use of the extraordinary powers with which I am vested and considering that, in view of the issuance of banknotes that have been and continue to be made without authorization from this First Headquarters, it is appropriate, - to avoid damage to the public, - to unify as far It is possible to circulate paper money and clearly establish which are the obligations accepted by this Government, I have seen fit to decree the following:
Article 1 - From April 1, 1915, the following bills will no longer have legal circulation: those issued in Monclova, Coah., Dated May 28, 1913, signed by Francisco Escudero and S. Aguirre; those issued in Durango in December 1913, signed by M. del Real Alfaro; those issued in Durango in January 1914, signed by J. R. Laurenzana, Pastor Rouaix and M. del Real Alfaro; those issued in Tampico on June 6, 1914, signed by Gral. Luis Caballero; those issued in Guadalajara on August 1, 1914, signed by General Alvaro Obregón and Lt. Corl. F. R. Serrano, and those issued in Durango in August 1914 and signed by Gral. Domingo Arrieta, José Clark and Juan B. Fuentes.
Article 2 - The Treasury of the Federation will effect the exchange of the tickets mentioned in the previous article, in the way that the Ministry of Finance will decide. The expiration of the period referred to in the previous article does not imply the invalidity of the tickets that have stopped being exchanged.
Article 3 - The tickets issued by the Government of the State of Sonora, as well as all those that have been issued, outside of those listed in Article 1, are null and void and continue to be issued without being authorized by decree of this First Headquarters .
